ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Shawna Stover. My husband and I decided to begin homeschooling in 2021, when our two younger children were 8 and 3. It has brought our family closer to each other and to God!

For us a typical homeschool day includes reading wonderful books aloud, math from a text book, learning latin together, some type of writing and independent reading, along with outside time or free time for learning. We enjoy special days like Read-a-thons, STEM days, and field-trips several times per year, and like most families, we are busy with extra-curriculars like music lessons, scouts, etc..

My educational philosophy draws from classical and Charlotte Mason, but we do not strictly adhere to one style, so I would say we are eclectic homeschoolers. My credentials are listed below:

Teaching Experience: 7 years as a School Librarian (1 year elementary, and 6 years secondary) Certifications: Level II certified in PreK-12 Library Science, 7-12 General Science and Biology Degrees: B.S. Zoology and Masters in Library Science Veteran: US Army National Guard - OIF
